I'm a software engineer in Berlin moving into platform engineering and SRE, with a second foot in AI engineering. I've kept federal police systems at 99.9% through a data-centre migration, built Java microservices for a federal agency, and written C++ and Rust where latency mattered. In my own time I run the homelab, and the retrieval system on top of it, that this site describes.

    Software Engineer (full-time) · Capgemini

    Java and Spring Boot microservices on Oracle with an Angular frontend for the Bundesverwaltungsamt, a federal agency, in an agile team. On a defence-sector project: TypeScript and React frontend components, Python tooling, and contributions to Terraform on STACKIT and the team's GitHub Actions pipelines. Open-source contributions to IDEasy, a Java CLI for reproducible developer environments.

  2. 03/2025 – 02/2026

    IT Systems Engineer (full-time) · Bundespolizeipräsidium, Berlin

    Planned and carried out the migration of federal police systems into a new data centre, Linux and Windows servers included. 99.9% availability across the systems I administered, with Ansible and automated health checks in Python and Bash that cut manual effort by 40%. Stood up Checkmk monitoring, upgraded GitLab, Nextcloud and a wiki, and supported Oracle operations including backup and recovery.

  3. 11/2024 – 02/2025

    Working Student, Software Development · BIFOLD, TU Berlin

    C++ aggregation and filtering operators for NebulaStream, a distributed stream processing platform: 45% more throughput than the previous implementation at under 100 ms end-to-end latency, with thermal sensor data at 30 FPS across nodes. Named in the acknowledgements of the SIGMOD Companion 2025 demo paper.

    Facility Assistant, IoT and Server Infrastructure (part-time) · Innowadi

    Built and ran the IoT and server infrastructure for research greenhouses: Linux servers and monitoring machines, sensors and motor controls. Diagnosed and fixed faults during live operation.

    A TypeScript (Node.js) backend on Google Cloud (Firebase, serverless): Cloud Functions, Firestore security rules, the data model and external integrations, for a quick-commerce app with up to 10,000 users. Query optimisation made the app 35% faster. Also the Flutter app and internal web tools.
